Swissmetal products beautify the Swiss National Park’s visitor centre Dornach, June 05, 2008 On Saturday 31 of May 2008 the Swiss National Park celebrated the opening of the new visitor centre in Zernez. Besides the invited representatives from authorities and municipalities and the guest of honour Minister of State Moritz Leuenberger, who gave due praise to the new building in their speeches, Swissmetal employees were also invited to the opening celebration.
In the context of sponsorship in the form of structural bronze for windows and doors and brass for fixed rails, Swissmetal had contributed to ensuring that the new meeting place looks its best. The Swiss team of architects around the famous architect Valerio Olgiati had deliberately decided against cheaper steel for the rails in the visitor centre and in favour of the more elegant high-quality brass from Swissmetal.
In the future the visitor centre in the Swiss National Park will house permanent and temporary exhibitions. The first visitors will see an exhibition by the artist Eric Alibert with drawings and paintings that are intended to give an impression of the National Park. |
