Swissmetal's Architectural Bronze to Decorate the Sydney Opera House Dornach, January 06, 2009 Swissmetal was awarded a contract to equip the internationally renowned, architecturally prominent Opera House of Sydney with architectural bronze. The building, designed over 30 years ago by the Danish architect Jorn Utzorn and distinguished as a world heritage site of the UNESCO, will be undergoing renovations involving the replacement of the aged hand railings, window and doorframe elements. For Swissmetal this means one more architectural project in the Australian economic area.
Swissmetal's experience and knowledge in the area of metallurgy and pressed profiles were decisive for the award of contract. To be able to exactly replicate the existing material surfaces, Swissmetal will use rare copper alloys. This will reproduce the colour of the old components as accurately as possible. With this contract, Swissmetal is affirming its ability to meet individual architectural demands in material and design making it attractive for further projects in the architectural sector.
